Marya Mannes Welcome to my Photo Gallery I am a spare time nature and wildlife photographer. I am self taught and self disciplined. My husband and I, and our three teenagers, live at our resort, The White Pines. The White Pines is nestled in a mature pine forest in a remote section of Eastern Ontario, called the Madawaska Highlands. The wilderness is untouched, as we are predominantly surrounded by Crown Land. The opportunity for photography is endless. And thanks to my sweet husband, who owns a seaplane, transportation to areas even more remote than ours, is but a kiss away. I grew to love photography in my teens. But after Shawn and I were married, and had our three kids in 3 1/2 years, I found that I didn't have enough hands to be able to handle a camera. But now that our kids have grown older, it is time to renew my hobby. Photography has allowed me to perceive and appreciate nature. I hope that if the beauty of these images touches you in some way, you will help protect them from destruction. It is my hope that our children and grandchildren will also be able to enjoy our wilderness as we know it now. These photographs are presented here for your enjoyment.
