The White Pines Resort is owned and operated by Shawn and Valerie Popkie and their family, Brandon Taylor & Madison. Winner of the Calabogie & Area Business Associations’ "Excellence in Store Front Presentation", and commended by our MPP John Yakabuski, and MP Cheryl Gallant, for "enhancing the picturesque beauty of the Calabogie area", and "creating a peaceful retreat, nestled among the majestic old-pine forest". Our 7 housekeeping cottages have been recognized as the most beautiful and well maintained in the area. We have 6 two bedroom units, and 1 three bedroom. All of our cottages have private decks overlooking the lake. Enjoy breathtaking views while drinking your morning coffee. When looking at our rate page, please note that we INCLUDE all of our taxes (13% HST in Ontario).
All the cottages have full bathrooms. There are well equipped kitchens with a full size fridge, stove and microwave, coffee maker, dishes, utensils and all cooking equipment. In each bedroom the comforters, pillows and blankets are provided, but you will need to bring sheets and pillow cases. Each cottage has a picnic table, fire pit, charcoal BBQ if requested and deck chairs. The grounds are dotted with many perennials and annuals gardens for a stunning show. The grass is always lush even in the driest months, thanks to our irrigation system.
With all of our cottage rentals, the use of our paddleboat, kayaks and canoes is complimentary. We also provide motorboat rentals so you can get out and explore the lake.
We supply the hardwood for the indoor fireplaces in the winter season, and have split poplar firewood for sale for the outside fire pits delivered right to your door during the summer.
All cottages are pet free, self catering/housekeeping units. There is one free boat docking slip per cottage. June 15th to Labour Day we rent by the week only (from sat-sat). The rest of the year, we rent on a daily basis with a two night minimum (except during the Christmas holidays which is a 3 night minimum). If there is a last minute cancellation during the summer, we will post it on the availability page, and at that point will rent the cottage on a daily basis.
Two Bedroom Standard Cottages
There are 5 two bedroom standard cottages which are all waterfront and have either private docks, or the main board walk for boat docking. All have 4 piece baths, except cottage #4, which has a 3 piece. #2, 3, 4 and 5 have a double bed in each bedroom. #6 has a double bed in the downstairs bedroom and two twin beds in the upstairs bedroom.
There is electric heat in all the cottages for those cool nights. Cottage #2 is fully winterized with a gorgeous Vermont Casting wood stove and is open for the winter season. Imagine yourself sitting in front of a cozy crackling fire after spending the day snowshoeing on our groomed trails! Prices on these units are based on occupancy of 4 people.
Two Bedroom Deluxe Cottage
This cottage was built for the romantic in mind. It offers a field stone fireplace, cathedral ceilings, 2 person Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, oak floors and 2 decks. The bedroom on the main floor has a queen size bed, and the upstairs bedroom has a double. This cottage backs on to our trail system, and has a beautiful view of the lake and gardens. In the winter, this can be your cozy warm retreat after a leisurely walk through the multitude of lit Christmas trees dotted around the premises. Prices on this unit is based on occupancy of 4 people.
Three Bedroom Cottage
This is our log building, which offers a huge deck, and unparalleled views of the lake. There are double beds in each of the bedrooms, as well as a sofa bed. We have installed a Napoleon wood stove with glass doors providing a great way to end a blustery winter day. For the sports enthusiasts, our groomed trails begin just behind this cottage. Stroll the property on a full moonlit winter night.
We are please to include a horse paddock behind this cottage which is spacious enough to keep any number of horses. There is a stable and approx one half acre that is sectioned off with mule string and wire. You only need to bring your portable electric fence to tie into the system. This area is well treed for shade, and there is an outside tap at the cottage to bring water to your horses. Prices on this unit is based on occupancy of 6 people.
